3D Printed RC Drift Car

During the summer of 2022, I have been working on developing a chassis for the body of a 1:10 1970's era Porsche 911 using Fusion 360. The purpose of this project is to gain more experience in Fusion 360 for my research position, as this is their main CAD software. So far, I have completed the rear chassis, and am working on developing the fitment on the mid-chassis for the Brushless motor, ESC, radio control transmitter, and battery. I am also working on the front chassis, which is similar to the rear, but includes the steering mechanism which will be controlled by the servo. Below are the progress pictures and videos for you to enjoy!

Rear Chassis

Shown left are pictures of one side of the assembled rear chassis, including a double wishbone suspension with the shock absorber and springs oriented similar to most RC drift cars. The motor will transfer rotational motion through helical gears (for smoother rotation) with a 5:1 gear ratio, and will transfer its rotation to the rear axle through bevel gears with a 1:1 gear ratio, shown in the last picture.
